Recent Events February 2003 Feb 4 - Regular Meeting and Training - Recent Events and Issues, - BC Search Dogs Assoc. – Georgia Combes - Rope Team Field Trip (Higgyland) – Doug Logan - Role of the Coroner – Stewart Alsgard Feb 13 - Rope Team Training night - Discussed future plans and needs. - Set-up and discussed a descent and haul system. Feb 22 - Rope Team Field Trip - Several Rope Team Members surveyed the Stillwater Climbing Area. This includes the ‘Stacks’ the ‘Catcheratcha”, and ‘Moss Mountain’ areas. These are beautiful water-side bluffs that have a very high potential for emergency calls. Basic pre-plan options were identified, and strategies discussed. It appears Coast Guard support will be required for most spots. This beautiful area is an easy walk, but caution should be used on the moss and slippery rocks. ******************************************************************* Current Events Mobile Command Post - PRSAR has purchased a 14 foot trailer. - Presently parked behind Kevin Laycraft’s. - The paperwork is being processed, and the work-parties will begin.
