Recent Events

April 2002

Apr 2 - Regular Meeting and Training

-Recent Events and Issues,

-Practice stretcher operations with new two-piece stretcher and wheel attachment.

              -rope assisted lowering

-Response truck checkouts, winch, various controls, etc.

Apr 16th Rope Team Training Night

-recent events and future plans,

-unassisted ascent and decent practice,

-further work on developing a rope harness for vertical stretcher operations.

The good news, - No callouts.

** Current Events **

New Stretcher

The replacement bracket for Plexi-shield has arrived and the cover can be fitted to the stretcher. The protective cloth bag is still in progress. We will need try this unit in the field to work out the handling problems. Probably on the June training night.

PRSAR Website

Work continues on building our website. It requires a lot of content and building. We have several photos to be put on the photos page. Please pass any photos you have of PRSAR members training, and StraitTalk Computing will scan them, then return them.

When we have a working site that wil still be 'under construction', we will publish the link.

(USUALLY FIRST TUESDAY OF EACH MONTH PRSAR/FIRE HALL)

 

May 14/02  Rope Team Meeting/Training - 7 p.m.

(USUALLY THIRD TUESDAY OF EACH MONTH  PRSAR/FIRE HALL

This newsletter will be issued once a month. The monthly issue will be sent out in the morning of the Friday before our regular meeting night. Therefore, contributions must be sent in by midnight, the Wednesday night before the meeting.

 In order for this to work, everyone needs to be involved, and contribute.

 The more people participate, the more this becomes 'our' newsletter.

The next issue will be June 2002. It will be sent out on Friday, May 31st. Deadline for contributions will be midnight, May 29th. Preferably, send in submissions as soon as possible. The information can always be changed before the deadline date.
