Nov. 15:
Pocahontus Mt.

On Nov 15th, PRSAR was called out to assist Texada SAR search for a lost 55 year old lady. The lady did not return from mushroom picking in the Pocahontus Mt. area. 15 PRSAR members and 2 search dogs arrived at the LKP to hear contact had been made. The subject responded to calls from Texada SAR members, as she traveled towards RCMP sirens sounded from the LKP. The subject stayed put and was able to start a fire to keep warm during the wet and cold night.

GET INVOLVED!

There are many ways:
  • Join Powell River Search and Rescue, share your skills and experience.

  • Make a financial donation towards equipment and training needs.

  • Make your local politicians aware that as a voting citizen you support Search and Rescue, and you want them to support PRSAR.

  • Encourage your employer to provide services and/or a charitable donation.

  • Provide support during a search or during training exercises: meals, equipment, etc.

  • Provide information on trails, maps, specific area knowledge, and be a resource person for that information.

  • You can contact PRSAR at prsar@hotmail.com. If it's an emergency, call 911.
